Welcome to our Site

The Arizona Stonewall Libertarians are a group of GLBTQ individuals working within the Libertarian Party to elect friendly alternative candidates to office and raise awareness for issues specific to our community.

For those who are just exploring, here you will find various resources presented for your consideration. We invite you to examine the material. If you decide Libertarianism is right for you, please join us online or at one of our gatherings soon.

What is a "libertarian"?

The Libertarians, with a capital "L", are a political party. But "libertarianism" as a state of political mind has a long history in our country, going back to the classical liberalism practiced by our Founding Fathers.

While modern leaders have divided society into a rhetorical "left" and "right", most Americans (particularly the gay community) continue to lead lifestyles of liberty.

Generally, you are a libertarian if you favor personal freedoms over government intervention, or to put it another way, if you favor the exercise of free will over the use of force to obtain results. Check out our "Issues" section to find out specific ways this applies to the GLBTQ Community.

Are you a libertarian?

Contemporary wisdom measures the polical spectrum on one dimension from "Left" to "Right". But humans are more complex, and our issues more nuanced.

The Nolan Chart attempts to measure our ideas about freedom in two dimensions: "economic" and "social".
